With over 30 years of experience serving in leadership positions within the US governmental, commercial, instructional, and not-for-profit industries, Mr. Mitchell is committed to advancing the performance of an organization’s two most valuable assets – the workforce and the workplace.
As a senior managing partner for a San Antonio, Texas (USA) – based facility management consulting and advisory assistance firm, Mr. Mitchell directs corporate business operations for independent contracted consultants who specialize in the development and delivery of service offerings in the areas of facility asset performance, workforce capability development, and organization structural alignment (www.fm3is.com). He previously worked with the global management and information technology consulting firm of Booz | Allen | Hamilton, and honorably served over 20 years of military active duty service with the United States Air Force
Mr. Mitchell has been a member of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) since 1998 and served as chairman of IFMA’s Global Board of Directors from 2009 to 2010. He currently serves as chairman of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University’s facility management degree program advisory council, a member of the National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine’s Board of Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment Directors, and a member of the Industry Advisory Group for the US Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Building Operations.
Mr. Mitchell’s professional credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural studies, a Master of Arts degree in management, a Master of Military Operational Arts and Science, a Master’s Level Certificate in Facility Management. He is currently completing coursework towards earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in organizational leadership. Mr. Mitchell has been a Certified Facility Manager and Certified Facility Manager Japan since 2000 and was bestowed the designation of IFMA Fellow in 2013.
