Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin Bin Abdul Karim

Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin Bin Abdul Karim (P.Eng, FIEM, FIStructE, FSc, Accredited Checker, and ACPE) is a highly respected corporate figure who has headed a long list of respected companies and government bodies in Malaysia.

Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin is currently the Executive Vice President Special Projects of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) and the Chairman of MRCB Builders Sdn Bhd, which is one of Malaysia’s largest construction companies, as well as MRCB-George Kent Sdn Bhd. The latter has been appointed as the Project Delivery Partner for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) 3 project in Malaysia.

He also holds the position of Chairman in CIDB Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin started his career in the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Government of Malaysia in 1978 where he progressively moved up the hierarchy to ultimately become the Director General. Following his long career with PWD, he went on to head the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia as its Chief Executive Officer from August 2011 till December 2015. He is currently a Board Member of The National Center for Privatization and PPP, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As the Director General of Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin was the founding Chairman of NAFAM in 2007.  PWD initiated NAFAM in view of the strategic and increasing importance to improve effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability in managing the current and future asset of the nation.

Other significant positions previously held included serving as President at both the Professional Services Development Corporation (PSDC) under the Ministry of Finance and Board of Engineers Malaysia. In addition, he has served as the President of the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) and Chairman of World Road Association (PIARC) for Technological Exchanges and Development Commission.

Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin holds a BSc. (Hons) Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute Of Science and Technology, UK as well as a Master of Science in Structural Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California.

He was awarded the Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for his significant contributions to the construction and engineering industries in Malaysia.

Other significant achievements include being awarded a Fulbright Hayes Fellowship, Eisenhower Fellowship and British High Commissioner’s Chevening Scholar.
